X-Ray Storage Units are intrinsically heavy, as shown by the weight chart included on the main page of this website. They cannot ship via UPS or FedEx.

Valuline X-Ray Storage Units from American Office Solutions, Inc., are shipped throughout the lower 48 states on Common Carrier trucks, less-than-truckload (LTL). Delivery is to your dock, curb or sidewalk. Inside delivery may be additional, as well as stair carry-ups. X-Ray Units ship ready-to-assemble, and therefore portaging the parts from a truck to the locale for your storage is not overly difficult for someone fit for the task- even though the completely assembled unit will be fairly heavy.

Steel X-Ray Storage Units will last a lifetime. They are made of industrial-grade steel. They are protected by an anti-corrosive solution into which they are dipped at the factory prior to receiving a thick coat of enamel paint. They are then baked in a huge oven, so that the paint cures to a hard and impervious finish.

The shelves which comprise the lateral surfaces within the unit are double and triple bent at their edges. This imparts tremendous strength to the spanned sheet of steel which comprises the shelf surface. Valueline X-Ray Storage Unit shelves can hold hundreds of pounds of evenly distributed x-rays per shelf.

The units themselves are completely fireproof, though they do not impart any fireproof protection to their contents. The only maintenance required of these units as they be kept in a dry environment, which naturally would be suggested for x-rays and any other media being stored.

The units will not sway, and once the unit is constructed and all bolts are tightened, it is amazingly rigid.
